Monstress vol. 1, copertina di Sana TakedaSi è da poco svolta la cerimonia di premiazione degli Hugo Awards, i più ambiti e prestigiosi riconoscimenti per quanto riguarda la Fantascienza e il Fantasy. In corsa, le opere che si sono maggiormente distinte nel 2016, a prescindere dal medium utilizzato dagli autori per esprimere la loro creatività; le candidature comprendevano dunque titoli provenienti dal Cinema, dal Fumetto, dalla Televisione e dalla Letteratura.

Prima di andare a scoprire tutti i trionfatori annunciati nel corso del 75° World Science Fiction Convention (tenutosi a Helsinki dal 9 al 13 agosto), concentriamoci sulla candidatura che più ci interessa, quella contesa da Marvel e Image Comics, ossia Best Graphic Story: a spuntarla è stata la seconda, con Monstress vol. 1: Awakening, di Marjorie Liu e Sana Takeda, che raccoglie i primi sei episodi della serie (già nominata più volte agli Eisner Awards) pubblicata in Italia da Oscar Ink.
